I learned one thing important last year. What happened to my uncle has taught me a lesson.
Last summer, my uncle was diagnosed as bowel cancer. The doctor told him that as long as the bad bowel was removed, he would be healthy again.
On September 14th when I had first mock exam, my uncle had an operation on the bowel. However, after the operation, my uncle was in a coma. When I came home, my mom told me the news. I was very shocked, afraid that we might lose him.
It was the first time in my life that my loved one was likely to leave us overnight. The feeling was horrible and hard to believe.
One month later, my uncle came to, but he could do nothing. Till now, he can only speak a few words.
After this, I learn to treasure every moment I spend with everyone for fear that any of them might “disappear” someday.
Since last summer, I did not take a rest. For the entrance exam, I study every day. Only the Chinese New Year could I far from books. Continually study is really weary. With the bad grade, many time I felt that I was on the edge of crazy.
I want the summer vacation come quickly so that I can get a long sleep, and make my life step slow down, do all the things I want.
Shin Pi is located in Ping Tung, where my grandpa lives. His house is surrounded by rice fields. Some fields are planted bananas; others are planted vegetables; still another are planted betel nuts. Few people live there because the work opportunities are very few in Shin Pi. Hence, there is extremely quiet.
Why do I like Shin Pi? Firstly, because it is always sunny at there. It seldom rained when I stayed there. In my impression, it rained less than five times. In winter, while it was rainy and cold in Taipei, it was sunny and warm in Shin Pi. The good weather can make my nose feel comfortable; no tissue paper is needed anymore.
Secondly, the quiet helps me to relax, as if I do not belong to the world; nothing has to do with me. When I feel tired, I want to go there for a rest.
Lastly, because my parents were busy with the chores, I could do all whatever I want. When I was in elementary, I rode a bike every where with my brother and cousins. We were at home only during meals and at night. I was really free.
I am glad that I have such a good place to go, being a country child. I treasure there a lot. I hope there would not be any change in Shin Pi so that it could be a best retreat for me.
I am glad to see the sun today. It can make me feel happier.
A new semester started; what I do every day is studying. Actually it is very boring and weary, but I have no choice. For my future, I must enter a good college. However, there is still a question in my mind. Why only study is good for us? I know the answer I will never agree forever.
A few months later, I will graduate from Li Shan. I will be separated from my classmates. I really can not imagine the day I won’t go to Li Shan and see all my classmates. I am afraid that we will not keep in touch after we enter collage. I really hope we can keep in touch no matter how old we are.
There are 131 days left for the big exam. Study harder! If you study hard, there will be a reward.
This photo was shot in Gao Xiong City. We went to Gao xiong in last summer vacation for three days. We have nearly gone to Gao xiong all famous scenic spots. Like Qi Jin(旗津) for the beautiful sea and riding bicycle; Xi zi wan(西子灣) for the sunset. I felt very happy in those three days. I will remember the wonderful vacation forever.
Larry kept a cute dog, which was one of the gifts on his 8th birthday. Larry very like it. They played together every day.
One afternoon, they played in a new park. Because he wanted to go to the toilet, he leashed the dog by the bench. However, when Larry went back, he saw the dog’s collar on the ground; the dog disappeared! Larry picked up the collar. He was so sad. He looked for the dog everywhere, but still could not find it.
Larry went home sadly, thinking of the time they spent together. Meanwhile, he heard a fimiliar sound. He looked at the door. The dog was sitting there! It was really amazing! Larry hugged it tightly, and swore that he won’t let it disappear again.
In the English class last week, the teacher taught hard. He wrote the sentence “We are the world!” on the blackboard, explaining it. However, one of the students in the class, Jimmy, was sleepimg. The teacher did not notice him yet.
Later, Jimmy started to dream. He dreamed that he would become an English teacher after twenty years. To his disappointment, although he tried hard to teach his students, all of them fell asleep. Meanwhile, the student sitting next to Jimmy noticed that Jimmy was murmuring something. He felt he was disturbed by Jimmy.
Suddenly, the teacher and Jimmy thundered “Wake up!” at the same time. Jimmy even slapped the desk. All the classmates laughed, but the teacher got angrier. Actually, Jimmy slapped the desk because he was trying to wake his students up in his dream.
In a sunny afternoon, Lara was playing with her cat in the neighboring park. She was sitting on the ground, touching the ball. At the same time, the cat looked at the ball, and wanted to touch it. The cat was adorable.
However, some strange things happened on their way home. Three abandoned cats were following Lara’s steps. It seemed that they had been looking for a new home. But Lara didn’t know that.
When they got home, those cats all rushed into the living room. The floor was stained by footprints, and the fish bones were scattered all over. What was worse, the sofa was damaged. The whole living was a mess. Lara was so shocked that she didn’t know what to do.
Later, her mom saw it and she was very angry. As a result, Lara was banned from keeping any pets forever.
Peng, a baseball player in Brother Elephant, is famous for his hit. He has small eyes, and he is tall. When he is standing in the batter’s box, the expression in his eyes are firm. However, he always smiles and is humble in front of fans and reporters.
Peng does not only love baseball, but persists in it. Therefore, he has set a high standard for himself. Once, he sank into a low tide. He was so depressed, but he tried hard to break it through. “I saw him practiced hitting at 1:00AM,” his dad said. Moreover, he was so angry with himself that he punched the wall. Due to this, he broke his right plam. After that, he took a braek from the baseball field for a long time.
Now, he contiunes hitting, and his performance is as outstanding as before. “He is a serious baseball player,” his coach said. His spirit and devotion are worth-learning.
